Flexi-Felt Industrial Strength 29mm x 51mm Self-Adhesive Felt Ovals are designed to help protect hard floors from scratching, scraping and noise caused by oval, narrow or longer furniture feet.
These oval stick-on felt pads are ideal for furniture legs or bases where a round pad is not the best shape.
Made with high-density wool blend felt and industrial-strength adhesive backing, they are easy to apply to clean, dry furniture surfaces.
For best results, clean the furniture foot before applying, press the felt firmly into place and allow the adhesive to bond before heavy use.
What is Self-Adhesive Felt used for?
Self-Adhesive Felt is used to help protect hard floors from scratching, scraping and noise caused by furniture legs, flat furniture bases and unusual contact points. It is a flexible option when a sleeve-style chair leg protector is not suitable.
When should I choose Self-Adhesive Felt instead of Flexi-Felt Clears?
Choose Self-Adhesive Felt when your chair legs are angled, unusual in shape, too large, too small or not suitable for a sleeve-style protector. Flexi-Felt Clears are best for suitable round, square or rectangular chair legs within the correct size range.
Can Self-Adhesive Felt be used on angled chair legs?
Yes. Self-Adhesive Felt is often a better option for angled or splayed chair legs because it sticks directly to the contact point rather than needing to fit around the leg like a sleeve.
Can I cut Self-Adhesive Felt to size?
Yes. Self-Adhesive Felt can be cut to suit different furniture shapes and contact points. Use sharp scissors or a utility knife and cut the felt to match the area that touches the floor.
Will Self-Adhesive Felt stick to timber furniture legs?
Yes, it can stick well to timber furniture legs when the surface is clean, dry and smooth. Remove dust, oil, polish, old adhesive or loose material before applying.
Will Self-Adhesive Felt stick to metal or plastic furniture legs?
Self-Adhesive Felt can be used on many smooth metal or plastic surfaces, but surface preparation is important. Clean and dry the surface properly before applying so the adhesive can bond as well as possible.
Why is my Self-Adhesive Felt coming off?
The most common reasons are dust, oil, floor polish, old adhesive, uneven surfaces or not enough pressure when applying. For best results, clean the furniture surface first, press the felt firmly into place and allow the adhesive to bond before heavy use.
How do I apply Self-Adhesive Felt properly?
Clean the furniture surface, make sure it is dry, cut the felt to size if needed, peel off the backing paper and press the felt firmly into place. Apply pressure across the full piece of felt, especially around the edges.
Can I use Self-Adhesive Felt on timber floors?
Yes. Self-Adhesive Felt is designed to help protect timber floors from furniture scratches and scraping when correctly applied and kept clean.
Can I use Self-Adhesive Felt on vinyl, laminate or tiled floors?
Yes. It can be used on many smooth hard floors including vinyl, laminate and tiles. Dirt or grit caught in the felt can still mark floors, so check and clean the felt regularly.
Does Self-Adhesive Felt reduce chair noise?
Yes. Felt can help reduce scraping, dragging and movement noise when furniture is moved across hard floors.
How long does Self-Adhesive Felt last?
Life depends on furniture weight, floor surface, movement, dirt and how well the felt was applied. High-use chairs may need replacement sooner than furniture that is rarely moved.
Can Self-Adhesive Felt be used under dining chairs?
Yes. It can be used under dining chairs, especially where the chair leg shape is not suitable for Flexi-Felt Clears. Make sure the felt is applied to the actual floor contact point.

Yes. Self-Adhesive Felt is suitable for many furniture types including tables, stools, cabinets, sideboards and flat furniture bases where floor protection is needed.
What size Self-Adhesive Felt should I choose?
Choose a size that covers the furniture contact point without overhanging too much. For unusual shapes or larger areas, a roll or larger piece can be cut to suit.
Should I use round pads, square pads or a felt roll?
Use round or square pads when they closely match the shape and size of the furniture foot. Use a felt roll when you need a custom size, strip, longer piece or unusual shape.
Can Self-Adhesive Felt be used outdoors?
Self-Adhesive Felt is mainly designed for indoor use. They can be used in outdoor conditions however moisture, dirt and UV exposure can shorten the life of the felt and adhesive. Just replace as needed.

Yes, but high-movement chairs need good surface preparation and regular checking. If the felt becomes dirty, worn or loose, replace it to keep protecting the floor.
What should I use if Self-Adhesive Felt is not suitable?
If your chair has suitable round, square or rectangular legs, Flexi-Felt Clears may be a better option. If your chair has a sled-base or tube-frame design, Sled Chair Glides may be more suitable.
How do I keep Self-Adhesive Felt working properly?
Check the felt regularly, remove dirt or grit, and replace it when it becomes worn, compressed or loose. Clean felt helps reduce the chance of floor marking.
Clean the furniture surface before applying. Remove dust, oil, polish, old adhesive or loose material so the adhesive can bond properly.
Cut the felt to size if needed, then peel away the backing paper and press the felt firmly onto the furniture surface.
