How the sample offer works

Flexi-Felt Clear Floor Protectors stretch securely over the bottom of furniture legs and have a durable wool-blend felt pad underneath. They require no nails, screws or adhesive and help furniture move smoothly while protecting hard floors from scratches.

Available sizes suit many common round and square furniture legs, with model ranges covering approximately 14–49 mm. Slightly rectangular legs may also be suitable for models 6825, 6835 and 6845 when the two measurements are within 5 mm of each other.

Flexi-Felt Clears are not recommended for highly angled legs or legs that are more than 5 mm out of square. For furniture legs that are unsuitable for the Clear range, our Self-Adhesive Felt range may be a better option.

Installation note

The installation tool is only suitable for the larger 6835 and 6845 models. The smaller 6815, 6820 and 6825 models should be installed by hand, with gentle heat from a hair dryer if required.

General size guide

6815: Round legs 14–17 mm. Square legs 12 mm. Not normally recommended for rectangular legs.

6820: Round legs 19–22 mm. Square legs 16–17 mm. Not normally recommended for rectangular legs.

6825: Round legs 25–29 mm. Square legs 21–23 mm.

6835: Round legs 35–39 mm. Square legs 28–32 mm.

6845: Round legs 45–49 mm. Square legs 35–39 mm.

Rectangular-leg guidance applies mainly to models 6825, 6835 and 6845. When the width and depth are within 5 mm of each other, add the two measurements together and divide by 2. Compare the average measurement with the relevant square-leg size range.

Models 6815 and 6820 are not normally recommended for rectangular legs. When the width and depth differ by more than 5 mm, use Self-Adhesive Felt instead.

Flexi-Felt Clears are best suited to straight or slightly angled furniture legs. Highly angled legs may prevent the felt base from sitting flat on the floor, so Self-Adhesive Felt may be a better option.

Flexi-Felt Clears are designed to stretch over suitable chair legs by hand. Please watch the installation videos below, or in the product photo gallery, to see the best fitting method.

The installation tool is generally only needed for the larger 6835 and 6845 models, especially on firmer or wider chair legs. It is not suitable or necessary for installing the smaller 6815, 6820 and 6825 models.

The installation tool is included free with orders over $100, or it can be purchased separately if required.

What can I put on chair legs to stop scratching timber floors?
A slip-on chair leg floor protector with a felt base is one of the best options for timber floors. Flexi-Felt Clear Chair Leg Floor Protectors use a clear flexible sleeve with a built-in felt base to help protect timber, hardwood, vinyl, laminate and tiled floors from scratches and scuff marks.

What are the best floor protectors for dining chairs?
The best option depends on the shape and size of your chair legs. For suitable round, square and slightly rectangular chair legs, Flexi-Felt Clears are a long-lasting slip-on option that does not rely on nails, screws or adhesive. For highly angled or unusual legs, Self-Adhesive Felt Pads may be a better choice.

Are slip-on chair leg protectors better than stick-on felt pads?
Slip-on chair leg protectors can be a better option when they fit correctly because they wrap around the chair leg instead of relying on adhesive. This can help stop the felt pad from peeling off, sliding out of place or collecting dirt around the edge.

How do I know what size chair leg protector I need?
Measure your chair leg carefully in millimetres and use the Size Guide or Get Size Recommendation tool on the product page. For round legs, measure the diameter. For square legs, measure one flat side. For slightly rectangular legs, measure both width and depth.

How do I measure round chair legs for floor protectors?
For straight round legs, measure across the bottom of the chair leg. For tapered round legs, measure around 20 mm up from the bottom, where the protector will grip the leg.

Can round chair leg protectors fit square chair legs?
Some round slip-on protectors can fit square chair legs if the sleeve is flexible enough and the size is correct. Flexi-Felt Clears have a clear flexible sleeve that can mould around selected square chair legs, while the felt base remains round underneath.

Can chair leg protectors fit rectangular furniture legs?
Some rectangular legs may be suitable, mainly with models 6825, 6835 and 6845. When the width and depth are within 5 mm of each other, average the two measurements and compare the result with the relevant square-leg size range.

Models 6815 and 6820 are not normally recommended for rectangular legs. When the width and depth differ by more than 5 mm, Flexi-Felt Clears are not recommended; use Self-Adhesive Felt instead.

What floor protectors should I use for angled chair legs?
Highly angled chair legs can be difficult for slip-on protectors because the felt base may not sit flat on the floor. For highly angled legs, Self-Adhesive Felt Pads are usually the better option because they can be applied directly to the bottom surface of the leg.

What if my chair leg size is between two protector sizes?
If your chair leg measurement sits between two sizes, the best choice depends on the shape, taper and material of the leg. Use the Size Guide, try a sample option where available, or contact us with your measurements before ordering.

Do chair leg protectors reduce noise?
Yes. A good felt-based floor protector can help reduce scraping, dragging and chair movement noise on hard floors. Flexi-Felt Clears are designed to help chairs glide more smoothly while protecting the floor surface.

Can chair leg protectors be used on vinyl, laminate and tiled floors?
Yes, felt-based chair leg protectors are suitable for many hard floors, including timber, hardwood, vinyl, laminate and tiles. Always make sure the protector fits correctly and the felt base stays clean.

Can I use chair leg protectors outside on a deck?
Most felt-based chair leg protectors are designed mainly for indoor use. Outdoor use, moisture, rough surfaces and weather exposure can shorten the life of the felt. If you need protection for outdoor furniture, check the product suitability first.

Are chair leg protectors sold individually or in packs?
Some floor protectors are sold individually, while others come in packs. Flexi-Felt Clears are sold individually so you can order the exact number you need, with pack saver options available for larger quantities.

How many chair leg protectors do I need?
Most dining chairs need four protectors per chair. As a guide, four chairs usually need 16 protectors, six chairs need 24 protectors, and eight chairs need 32 protectors.

Do I need a tool to install chair leg protectors?
Most smaller slip-on protectors can be fitted by hand. For larger or firmer chair leg protectors, an installation tool may make fitting easier. With Flexi-Felt Clears, the installation tool is generally only needed for the larger 6835 and 6845 models.

What should I use if slip-on chair leg protectors will not fit?
If your chair legs are too angled, too rectangular, too small, or unusual in shape, Self-Adhesive Felt Pads may be the better option. They can suit a wider range of furniture leg shapes because they attach directly to the bottom of the leg.
